Coin diameters. Common sizes include 1/2", 5/8", 3/4" and 1 3/8" to suit small tags through to larger panels.

Materials. Hook 88 (bristly side) and Loop 1000 (soft side) nylon fasteners.

Adhesive. Acrylic 72 high temperature adhesive, pressure sensitive, with good resistance to UV, moisture and many common solvents.

Substrate and surface energy considerations:

Best suited to high surface energy substrates such as stainless steel, aluminium, glass, painted metals, rigid PVC, epoxy and urethane coatings where the adhesive can fully wet out and develop strong shear strength.

Not recommended for many low surface energy (LSE) plastics like polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene, Teflon and some powder coats unless properly primed or an alternative 19 adhesive system is used.
Because exact shear and tensile strength will vary by substrate and surface prep, we always recommend testing your specific assembly, especially for load bearing or safety critical designs.

FAQs
Are these pre-cut coins removable?
VELCRO® Brand coins are designed for long term fastening, not as temporary repositionable dots. The hook and loop side is fully reusable, however the acrylic adhesive is high bond. On many substrates you can remove the coin with careful peeling, but some adhesive residue or surface damage is possible, especially on delicate finishes. Always test first on a hidden area.
Will these coins stick to powder coated or painted metal?
In many cases, yes. Acrylic 72 adhesive performs well on high surface energy painted and powder coated metals when properly cleaned and degreased. For very slick or low energy coatings, a primer or alternative 19 adhesive system may provide better wet out and cure. If powder coat performance is critical, contact us with coating details for a recommendation.
Can I use these outdoors or in higher temperature environments?
These pre-cut coins are made with a high temperature acrylic adhesive that typically performs from roughly -20°F up to around 225°F, with good UV and moisture resistance in many outdoor or semi exposed applications. For continuous exposure to high heat, UV or chemicals, we recommend testing your specific environment or contacting us for guidance.
Do I have to buy full rolls or large case quantities?
No. One of the benefits of buying from iTapeStore is flexibility. You can order smaller groups of coins for prototyping or small jobs and still access volume discounts as your usage grows.
